Simon started his Ph.D. in April 2019. The main goal of his research is to improve the FRAME technique further and find out what its limits are. Recently he has been investigating how many frames can be encoded in a single camera exposure and how the image quality is related to the number of frames. As part of his Ph.D. project he will investigate whether it is possible to construct a FRAME setup where attosecond pulses are used. If successful this would set a new standard for ultrafast filming.
Simon has a background in physics and did his masters project at the division of Atomic Physics in Lund University, where he studied the generation of ultrashort pulses.
